MAJORS MARK AND RHEA DAWN WOODCOCK

Major Mark A. Woodcock was born in Salisbury, Maryland, with Major Rhea Dawn Woodcock being born in Louisville, Kentucky. They were married in 1980 and graduated from The Salvation Army Evangeline Booth College in 1987 and commissioned (ordained as Salvation Army Officers). They are second and third generation Salvation Army Officers.

The Woodcocks have served in the following appointments, overseeing the work of The Salvation Army: Martinsville, Virginia; Montgomery County, Maryland; Staunton, Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia and Jackson Mississippi. The Woodcocks also served as Divisional Youth Secretaries at the headquarters of The Salvation Army Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi Division in Jackson, Mississippi.

The Woodcocks became Memphis, Tennessee Area Commanders in 2006. While in Memphis, they were charged with raising $25,000,000 to receive a $62,000,000 matching grant from the Kroc trust to build and endow the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. This facility is a 100,000 square foot proactive ministry of The Salvation Army in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 2012 the Woodcock became the Orlando Area Commanders and in 2015 were appointed to Georgia Divisional headquarters as the Divisional Secretary. In 2019 the Woodcocks were appointed to Washington as Area Commanders and in 2023 to Tampa.

The Woodcocks also have two daughters, Capt. Ashlee Wildish, serving as the Corp Officer (Paster) in Pensacola FL, with her husband, Stephen, along with their three children. Their youngest daughter, Alexandra Ricketts works for the Salvation Army in Sarasota and is married with two children
